Me and my mum decided to go to Turkey for a week on 18th June, we went to stay at the Ephesia Beach Hotel in Kusadasi, which was lovely. I'm having some serious Holiday come down now! The weather was baking, so naturally (and me and my mother being full and half Spanish respectively) we spent all day tanning, from breakfast until dinner, skipping lunch and replacing it with shandy and water.

Copious amounts of alcohol were consumed thanks to the bartenders who made us a lot of different drinks to try, not to mention a shit load of margaritas. On the last day I managed to get tonsillitis, which made the last few hours (quite literally) of the holiday pretty terrible. I like to think that it was Turkey's way of saying 'DONT LEAVE ME.' I even had to have an injection, which cost 100 euros, to bring my temperature down really quickly, otherwise I would have been unable to fly. That was all a little traumatic seeing as the nurse nor doctor could understand English (nor each other for that matter, one was Turkish and the other Bulgarian?)

All in all, I had the biggest laugh ever with my mum. Every night was eventful, no matter how little we did during the day or how little we encouraged the drama/men. The last night involved me giving out my number twice, the second man to which I changed the last digit (he had chased my mum and I back to our hotel room the previous evening.) After this, he stormed back over to the bar and shouted 'I JUST TRIED TO RING YOU AND IT DIDNT WORK' which led me to just get angry, tell him I wasn't interested and that he must be pretty stupid to not realise it, and that my bloody roaming was switched off so Vodafone couldn't rob me.

The sunsets were beautiful, the weather was HOT, not falling below 34 degrees, and the food was good.

On the Thursday we went to Ephesus, the site of one of the seven wonders of the medieval world. Stupidly, we didn't realise it was up a mountain and that the weather was 53 degrees. I almost turned into a burns victim and spent most of the visit running between pillars for some shade! It was a beautiful place to go, however, and if you go in the morning I'm sure it would be a much much better idea!

Here are some photos of what I wore around the pool, the awkward time between showering, aftersun and getting ready for dinner, an then evening outfits.

I really recommend Kusadasi next time you consider going away, and if you have been, or are going, let me know!
I don't want to go back to work/uni now... I want to win the lottery and be on holiday forever.

Doherty & the Kooples

That good-for-nothing, sadomasochistic skag addict, Pete Doherty, has teamed up and released a new collection with The Kooples.

I'm afraid I am biased. I love Pete Doherty and I love his musical talents. He doesn't want to be a role model, so I'm not going to sit here and explain why the majority of the population consider him as being the worst thing to happen to Britain since 1979. Instead, I'm going to report on his exciting new collaboration with the french brand.

Since abandoning good old Albion in 2011 after the death of our Amy (R.I.P) and fleeing to Paris, Doherty has played handfuls of gigs and apparently found inspiration by falling in love. With this location change, it has become easier for Doherty to promote his new venture with The Kooples, which he designed for release early last year.

After being incarcerated at Her Majesty's pleasure for drug possession in 2011, the A/W 11 range was postponed for release until S/S 12. The collection was released on 14th March.

Pete Doherty, with the help of ex-girlfriend Irina Lazareanu, have modelled the new range that features 60's slim fit tailoring, capturing essences of Doherty's famous mod-esque suits. The range wouldn't be complete without his signature braces and trilby hat. For the women, Doherty designs 60's dresses, blazers and tailored shorts. Also featured throughout the clothing is artwork created by Doherty for his Grace/Wastelands EP from 2009.

Not everybody knows who The Kooples are, and why should they? After all, there is no British wikipedia entry on the trio. The womenswear brand, Comptoir des Cotonniers, is where The Kooples stemmed from. The three sons of the brand created the label in Paris in 2008, inspired by androgyny, military and sharp tailoring. Sounds like Pete all over, right? The brand essentially creates styles for a koople, his 'n' her etc. taking inspiration from musical sub culture and vintage pieces.

What do you think about the Kooples new collaboration with Peter Doherty?

Off the radar and onto the front row: Alexa Chung

Ever wondered what happened to Alexa Chung after she disappeared from T4? Well... she's a big success... with lanky legs. She often crops up in various glossy mags for her elegant outfits, but no, that's not how she pays the bills.
So it's been a while since I saw Ms Chung grace my TV screen on a Saturday morning. A couple of days ago my sister and I were reminiscing about our younger years and how excited we used to be to switch on Steve Jones, June Sarpong, Simon Amstell and Miquita Oliver early on in the weekend in celebration of the two day break from school. We quickly learnt that presenters come and go.

Nowadays, Steve Jones hosts a variety of other TV shows (namely the show he's just been let go from - X Factor USA.) Miquita Oliver has been AWOL since her T4 days, although made an appearance at Lily Allen's wedding as a gorgeous bridesmaid last summer. Meanwhile Simon Amstell has managed to take his place firmly in the realm of comedy, although we all still miss him as the 'Nevermind the Buzzcocks' presenter, right?

Alexa Chung on the other hand - who joined T4 as I was grew out of it - has been scooped up and swallowed by fashion. Mulberry even made a bag and named it after her. Yeah... jealous is the right word. She writes for British Vogue. She has her own TV show '24 Hour Catwalk' in the US. She walked for Vivienne Westwood's S/S 09 show at Fashion Week. She's the face of Lacoste. She has been branded 'the new Kate Moss' by respectable 'The New York Times.' Above all, she goes to various Fashion Weeks around the world, and is paid to sit and look pretty in the designers finest on the front row. What a job. How many of you know she was set to study Fashion Journalism at University? If only we were all so lucky!

According to Tatler, Anna Wintour even claimed that Alexa Chung was the world's newest 'phenomenon.' Chung can also count herself lucky by having friends in Karl Lagerfeld, Christopher Kane and Henry Holland.

Well... she must be doing something right. You've all clearly been voting for her to win the British Style Award at the British Fashion Awards, which she has scooped up for the second year running. I wonder what 2012 will bring for Ms Chung, more success? Or a gradual decline in her 'phenomenon' status? We'll have to wait and see, but I've heard another ex-T4, Jameela Jamil, is still very much hot on her heels...
